I have to say, the most bullshit part is how cups are locked by stars. I'm up to the donkey kong cup and it's VERY difficult to get the 5 star scores since they're so inflated and rigged in favor of triple item characters. 6500? Lol I can only get 5500 and I can't even imagine hitting 6500. Especially in brutal 150 cc. Honestly feels like 100 cc is best to do it in while spamming items. It says I need 20 stars for donkey kong cup, but I'll only get 4+4+4=12+3=15. So I need to 5 star some previous cups score which is insanely high to even access DK cup. Jesus.
