someone's gonna have to explain this karen thing to me

The stereotypical I wanna speak to the manager but Its usually some petty complaint type of person.

Yea. Imagine you're working a checkout register and a customer comes up to you with a single can of salmon and a coupon for 50 cents off two cans of tuna. She insists that you run the coupon even though it doesn't match the product, quantity, and you notice it's both expired and for a rival chain. When you point this out she insists that the other cashier/cashier from last night/manager/whatever always lets them run it regardless (even if you were the cashier from the prior night and/or are the owner of the entire store or whatever). When you call the manager over she'll insist that you're too stupid to figure out how to utilize the coupon and demand that they run it through or even give her the salmon flat-out for free. If they refuse then they'll claim that they're discriminating against her, false advertising, lying, or whatever else and demand that you, your manager, or possibly both of you be fired for 'incompetence'. She will keep on escalating this as far as she can, potentially resorting to physical violence or outright theft, until she either gets the salmon (and possibly more) or gets flat-out thrown out of the store. That's a Karen.

Basically imagine the entitled brat who, as a toddler and child, got everything they wished for, never punished, and had their parents come to their defense the moment something went wrong, all grown up but not having changed one bit from those days.
