mnkboy907 05/15/19 3:20:04 PM #12: | As far as origins go, I think dark basically meant both tan and mysterious, as in 1600s Europe it would refer to handsome foreigners who were mysterious by nature of being foreign, but also tan by virtue of where they were from (and I suppose dark hair also came with the full package). But also in early 1900s Amercia, tans became a symbol of attractiveness and a sign of wealth, so that probably factored into more modern usage of the phrase. --- Change is weird. ...
