Singin' in the Rain, not to knock on its quality, but it does kind of feel like it has some kind of "postage stamp" appeal, which doesn't make it hard to see how it largely flew under the radar in its own time compared to its massive reputation since. Also find it kind of funny how this movie got no Oscar nominations, yet a decade later it probably would have been considered prime-Oscar bait.

It took me the opening montage of Lockwood's career up to that point to understand what the film was trying to do, but once I did, I was hooked.
