Conforto not counting his 2018 b/c he was injured- but his 2017). But almost everyone who struggled last year is not still struggling. So you can't just attribute it to streakiness, else you'd have some players coming back from struggling, and some struggling after a good year last year instead of basically just the latter. going around the diamond Ramos - already talked about at length. SLG is way lower than it should be even given the low average for "seemingly no reason" (theres a reason) Alonso - not here last year (awful idea btw, and theyre paying for it now, since he's having his first real slump) Cano - down year (age? prob not, age hadn't stopped him before. hitting style?) Rosario - was good offensively last couple months, and remains pretty good now. Frazier - bad last year, still bad. shouldnt be starting McNeil - still doing what he's doing last year, lots of line drives. little mini slump now but is fine overal Nimmo - suffering horribly from last year. Walk rate is still ok but striking out way more for his already high K rate. Hits aren't coming when he does make contact Conforto - he is actually a little better than last year RN, but his injury slowed him down badly last year. should be closer to his All Star 2017 numbers, but hes not there yet. injury maybe is still affecting him, 2 years removed. In a small slump right now. Smith- the only truly improved player from last year, finally finding himself, hitting, thriving in a pinch hitting role. Was demoted last week so the mets could save $1M on Hechavarria Davis- actually he's improved too, good PH role in hitting lefties. He's proabably going to be sent to the minors once Lowrie comes back next week. Gotta play your sunk costs. (Lowrie should be here instead of Frazier but that will obv never happen). Lagares - Bad hitter last year. Bad hitter this year. He's a bad hitter. Defensively still great.
