What I hate most about this episode is how much it cheapens S8E2. If everyone who was around the fire lived (with no major injuries, even), what was the point of the episode? Why would they complete Briennes arc, or make Grey Worm seem so vulnerable? The pre-battle could have been kept to one episode, and these character moments could have been saved for before the big fight against Cersei

Because they need padding. Look how it takes a good 15 minutes before the "fight" to start. I get it, you want tension, but it doesn't feel like tension... It feels like they only have 8 episodes to conclude a series of many years and they don't really know what to do, so they pad episodes with useless shit.

Yeah. Thats exactly what Ive been thinking. I think D and D are really good at adapting stuff, but when it comes to writing their own shit, they obvious flaws with their writing shines through it all.

Man, the battle for Winterfell shouldve fucking killed everyone hiding in the crypts, at least. Instead we get the wights popping up and surprising everyone and then... nobody of importance dies. Sansa and Tyrion just had to hide behind a tombstone and... held hands? Misandei and Gilly didnt even do anything at all.

Ugh. Everyone down there shouldve died. The innocents are always the ones who suffer the most. But nope, everyone basically walks out of what is possibly the hardest battle ever with... no real losses beyond 4 dudes
