Awakening was good Awakening was passable but clearly marks the shift in quality and tone of the series. Map design was sub par and and pretty much the same throughout the game. Not to mention that paired with the same Routing objectives took away even more away from the emphasis on playing strategically. Game was just too grindy. Which didn't help with the class inbalances. There's no point in diversifying your teams when you easily get beefy stats and can plow through the game with just Chrom/Robin They sacrificed a lot for the sake of focusing on the very anime tropey story and characters. I get that's always been a thing with previous FE games but it just seemed way more exaggerated in this title.
