the main continuous line is simple, it's the % of a user's votes that are made at that hour of the day (EST)

So on the GTM graph the line starting at midnight (hour 0) is plotted at about 5.5%, so 5.5% of the posts GTM makes are at midnight....... he makes about <1% of his posts between 4-6am, and his most active hour is 11% of his posts at 8pm

The tiny line segments across the graph are more complicated to explain, but the main thing to point out that there are 24 line segments - one for each hour. Each line segment is basically a log of all the posts made at that hour, matched accurately to the minute/second of that hour along the x-axiis. The y-axis is insignificant, the segments are scaled to be the same height no matter how many posts are made in that hour's log just for visual readability of the lines shape.

Ultimately each dot is a post made... to try to follow along easier you can look at GTM's least active hour, 5am (between x=5, x=6).

The very first post GTM made in the 5am hour is dot plotted at the bottom of the segment, on the x-axis, the tiny dot just before the 6... given that it's about 90% of the way to the 6, that post should've been made at about 5:50am. The line then moves up to the next post GTM made at 5am which goes off to the left, maybe about 5:10am. The most recent post GTM made at 5am is at the top of that line, almost dead-on 5am... and since I'm own the whole lfaqs log I can find that myself to prove it: that post was in a Survivor topic about linkin park, made at (01/01/19 5:01:19 AM)

You can even add up all those dots to see that GTM has only made 14 posts at a 5am for as long as posts have been archived!
