Really liked Black Panther, although I'm struggling to think of much interesting to say and I'm not rushing out to proclaim it as a masterpiece. Feels like a 7-8/10 deal, though probably closer to an 8.

I'm proud that superhero movies have come far enough to the point where they can tell serious stories while still leaving plenty of room for natural humor and leaving behind all the grimdark nonsense, and where the villains aren't just looking to conquer the world or cause general chaos. I used to think I had a bias against superhero movies and resented how they've taken over the box office, then I realized that it's probably more a bias towards older films on my part and that Hollywood would probably be making royal pieces of crap if it wasn't making good superhero flicks.

Also realized this is the second Disney film I've seen this year with a black supremacist villain, the other being Con Air. Bonus points in that Diamond Dog in that film plans on betraying Cyrus once they're done with the plane, though they never get that far. Also Diamond Dog's actor is in the MCU.

For another pointless statistic, the last movie I watched with a LOTR actor in it was Alien, which is now also a Disney film. Also that both Ian Holm and Martin Freeman have played Bilbo.

That being aside, the best compliment I can pay the CGI is that the objects looked like what they were supposed to be. Otherwise, ouch.
