"This is boring," Nella says as she back strokes around the two of you. "Can't we go swimming off to the sandbar island over there? Or there's this spot I know around the side." "No, no, we should stay close to the rest of the family," you say. "They might worry if we end up out of sight." "We're not little kids," Nella grumbles. "The kids are the ones wanting to play in the sand." "Fair enough," you say. "But I'm going to be a good older cousin or whatever I am to those kids and play in the sand." You swim back to shore but Nella tugs Raven's arm. "Won't you at least hang out with me?" she pouts to Raven. "It's fine if you do," you tell Raven. "Well, in that case," Raven says, "as cute as it is to hear the little ones call you 'Rowy', I'm not really a sand castle kinda girl. See you in a little bit?"
