To be fair though, 'traditional' comic forms don't do anything for me. Some of my friends have been on a crusade to find the one standard-esque kind of comedy movie I'll not groan at the entire time for more than a decade and they've still come up short.

I respect some of these shows for what they do and understand why people find them humorous but my taste in humor is just totally in the opposite direction. Dark comedy might win me over... sometimes. "Fight Club" does it for me. Some British humor works on me; some doesn't. /shrug

Situational humor centered on a character's quirks works for me but only within the context of shows and films that are generally of a more serious tone. Example: Odo and Quark bickering in DS9 gets me laughing more often than not. But if the series were titled' Odo and Quark' and focused on the comic exploits of these two characters while discarding the more serious nature of the plots I wouldn't watch it.

Futurama probably only remains truly watchable for me because I'm a sci-fi nerd through and through but I never rush to watch it even still.
