It has a great story, amazing boss fights, lovable and lovable-to-hate characters, and a great setting and direction. But it seems mired by its pseudo-metroidvania style of play. It's gameplay mechanics are in a way that invites backtracking and collectible puzzle solving but it in no way encourages you and in fact bog you down at times. The puzzles are often hit or miss and the direction of where to go can sometimes be distracting.
