Although, after 16 year of insulting me and telling me I'm not good enough, I suppose they have damaged my general confidence plenty. So, that's good.

damn you have been in CE for 16 years?

Well, more than 16 and a half, actually.

Kilbotz, I'd like to think it's a mix of character-driven storytelling, with plenty of zeitgeistal elements. I mean, clearly Germany has a fascinating history, and I want to use that. If I don't talk about how people's lives were affected by Hitler and the Nazis, or by the Stasi, I'm doing it wrong. I admit, though, the couple of stories I want to write set in modern Germany, i.e. 1990 and onwards, I like the idea of writing them like generic Western stories. This is meant to reflect how Germany is now part of a global community, and so has blurred its culture with those of places like Britain and America, etc. This, I think, is reffered to as monoculture.

Writing can be very hard, though, even when you feel you know the subject matter very well.
