For basically everything I go local instead of big brands. Even if its nore hassle.
I really like local stores and I get to know people
I do it sometimes. But not exclusively. Especially if its more of a hassle... And especially if its a good deal more expensive...

When I walk into the local auto parts store, the guy knows my name and he knows what kind of car I drive.
When I go to the local hardware store, someone always comes up and asks if I need any help, and they are knowledgeable about all kinds of stuff, like what kind of tool works best for pulling thistles (eye hoe) or the best way to fix a cracked sink drain (silicone caulk).
They charge a bit more, but considering it's a half hour drive to the nearest big box store, it's usually a push.
If you had a big box store much closer and cheaper, would you go there?

No really. If you go there enough, you can still get to know them...
Busy people dont often stop to try and talk. More crowded places communicate the minimum to get their day along
Unless they are trying to flirt in which case theyll stop for forever but its really funny when guys try to flirt with me through my sister ---
