Your point? Japan could function just as well with half the current population. There's nothing to be afraid of. Birth rates are easily reversable, destroying your country with immigration takes a lot more effort to reverse, as we will see in the coming few decades in Western Europe.

Because a shrinking younger population will struggle to support their older population, which means an increase in poverty both among the aged and youth. Poverty is a big driver of famine, disease, and crime. If a smaller population was fine, why is the government putting significant funds into avoiding it?

Not to mention, America has been growing its population since 1776 and it's doing just fine. How have we destroyed ourselves?
