Kinda bummed they axed Best Character because that was always a fun category that held a lot of weirdly personal discussion in addition to like 'protagonist X from critical darling.' oh well.

Here's what I'd pick for each category. This isn't a prediction for GB's list.

WINNER: Celeste. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion, Dragalia Lost, Below (I don't care I went over here!!)

Best Debut
WINNER: Celeste. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Unavowed, Into the Breach.

Hottest Mess:
"WINNER": Games industry chewing up and spitting out labour. DISHONOURABLE MENTIONS: Fallout 76, Toei undercutting the growing community of DBFZ.

Best Moment/Sequence:
WINNER: Carefully analyzing the map of Into the Breach and perfectly executing your plan without fucking up. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion's final boss, when Ashen tells you that yes it is very much Dark Souls 1.

Best Story:
WINNER: Unavowed. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Yakuza 6, The 25th Ward: The Silver Case

Best Ongoing Game:
WINNER: Final Fantasy 14. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Overwatch, Assassin's Creed Origins

Best Looking:
WINNER: GRIS. HONOURABLE MENTIONS: Ashen, Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Most Disappointing:
"WINNER:" The Fall Part 2: Unbound. DISHONOURABLE MENTIONS: Forza Horizon 4, Kentucky Route Zero Act 5 (for not coming out).
