Even if you do something you dislike, if you just do it long enough, you become profficient and eventually good/fast at it. If you play games for a bit, and try a completely new game, you can already guess some controls. Simple example, but if you play on PC with KB+M, most key have jump defaulted as the spacebar. So naturally, most people will try that first when figuring out how to jump. Not Phil, he will try random keys in a random order and then complain that the game is stoopid and will look to his chat for awnsers. It's why he struggles with every single soulsborne game, even though the controls are almost completely identical. He doesn't seem to retain information.
