Would you want to condemn somebody to live with a serious mental or physical defect? I wouldn't.

There are plenty of disabled people that would rather have been born than never had a shot at life. This idea that you are saving your child from a life of suffering is nothing more than a weak inward justification of not wanting the burden on yourself to take care of a disabled child.

I'm not disabled and I spent the first 20 or so years of my life wishing I hadn't been born. Please don't try to project your motivations onto me. I choose to work with children with a number of difficulties. I'm not shy of hardship, but making the decision between creating a life which will certainly include a lot of hardship and suffering and letting it end before it begins, to me it seems much kinder to choose the second option.
