I don't understand the love for the GCN controller. Like is it really better than the Pro, DS4, and the Xbox controller? if so, why?

...am I REALLY so out of touch? I can't get used to the Xbox, and the DS4 is actually uncomfortable to me.

I'm not saying you are, I'd just like to here arguments for why it is better

Well like I say, I don't know what it is about the Xbox. I just can't seem to get used to it.

The PS4 controller I know the problem; the handles (I think that's what they're called?) are too straight and rigid. The curved design of the PS2 controller is FAR comfier. Not to mention the way they relocated the middle buttons to make way for that horrifiying black rectangle. The PS4 controller feels like a cheap knock-off of the PS2 controller.

I don't now how someone could possibly have this opinion.

The PS1-3 controllers had some of the least ergonomic grips ever that must have been made by aliens who have only seen human hands in blurry photos from a distance. There was no actual ergonomics testing done with them apparently, the engineer was just like "let's throw some vaguely handle shaped protrusions on the ends of a SNES controller and call it good". And his boss was like "looks good on paper, let's ship it".

The PS4 controller actually made an attempt at ergonomic grips.

People who can't get used to Xbox controllers probably have trouble adjusting to the fact that you don't have to make any sort of fucked up hand posture just to hold it after years of growing up with PlayStation monstrosities.
