I think smarks are the people who created this mentality because of the determination to jump to the worst, most negative possible conclusion.

Because WWE do dumb shit all the time, but it doesn't generally end up being quite as bad as people say it's going to be.

So you have something happen, people say "this will be shit. Thing x will happen now and it's just going to get worse and worse and worse". And then inevitably slightly cooler heads say "well hold on maybe it won't". It's a more relaxed response to over the top, vitriolic, silly, senseless bile hurled WWE's way that often makes zero sense.

And Rock is definitely 100% not innocent in that, that kind of hyperbolic negative reaction - I don't think anyone is. But when people are so perpetually down on WWE that they instantly assume the absolute worst all the time it's pretty natural to say "wait and see". Because often the "wait and see" crowd have a point insofar as it's not quite as shit as you might have said.
