You do realize the irony in your statement, yes? Weird he has wrestled with no issues in the past and managed to past inspections.

Also, after looking at the video, his hair doesn't extend past his earlobe neither does it touch the top of his shirt.

If the length wasnt an issue then why did he need a cap? Also, referees/umpires are notoriously inconsistent. Ive seen extremely lax and extremely strict. But, if the rule is there and they choose to enforce it theres literally nothing you can do to fight it unless he passed a different kid with similar violations.

Unless his dreads where longer, you're under the assumption that wearing a cap means means that length is an issue. Even then, he was within the regulations set forth. The referee is clearly incompetent.

The issue WAS his cap. The original story in the paper said he had a hair cap, but it wasnt attached to the head gear. The requirement was added to the NFHS rulebook a few years back and, unless the state athletic association is completely incompetent, should have been reviewed annually at the rules clinic. The referee in question isnt incompetent if he caught a violation that the other referees missed. If the athlete didnt have the legal head wear he had to remedy the violation or forfeit.

"SITUATION 17: Does braided hair that is non-abrasive need to be contained in a legal hair cover? RULING: If the hair in its natural state is longer than allowed by rule, then it must be contained in a legal hair cover. (4-2-1)"

The rules are taken from the National Federation book. Maybe I missed something, but was it stated anywhere in the rule book that it had to be attached to his headgear? You're under the assumption that he wasn't in regulation with no evidence provided. Except he did, hence why you must past an inspection before your match. If iy had been issue like he claims, he would have addressed this prior to any of this happening.

Ok I did the homework for you. From the 2014-15 NFHS Rulebook, and this hasnt been changed:

http://www.utahwrestling.org/2014_15WrestlingRuleBook.pdf#page36

On page 40 and in Section 3 it says that the hair cover must be attached to the ear guards.

The wrestlers hair cover was not attached. Thats why he was disqualified unless he remedied the violation. The people crying racism dont know the rules and apparently arent trying to learn them...all they are paying attention to is a white man telling a black kid he couldnt wrestle with dreads.
