Topic | *~~SephG ranks the classic 2D console platformers~~* |
VectorAgent 12/21/18 10:50:24 PM #205: | pjbasis posted... Platformers were THE in-genre of the late 80s to mid 90s. Lots of bad ones, but also lots of decent to good ones that people still don't really remember too much. A personal favorite of mine that I don't think I've ever known anyone else to have played: Tonic Trouble. Ubisoft 3D platformer, same era as Rayman 2: The Great Escape (which is an undeniable classic itself). The main character, a purple alien named Ed, even lacked limbs in the same way that Rayman did. It wasn't the most groundbreaking game out there, but I had a lot of fun with it. I found out about it by happening to pick up some gaming magazine one day in which there was an ad for three games on one page: Rayman 2, Rocket: Robot on Wheels, and Tonic Trouble. My brother had Rayman 2, and for some reason Tonic Trouble stood out to me from that page, so I asked for it for my next birthday. Still haven't played Rocket: Robot on Wheels, but it is in my backlog. And I understand it is also supposed to have been really good. --- Only guy on the entire internet thinking about the Scoobyverse. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
