Ultimately if they had just given us 4 but with an improved tweaked smash run and a fine tuned smash tour and better menus I might have preferred that.
4's problems were mostly due to how it artificially stretched out the game, and ultimate fixes that, but in doing so it also takes out a lot of what made 4 a game that could be played forever
preferring 4 over Ultimate makes the least amount of sense in Smash predecessor-vs-sequel history
like even preferring Smash 3DS over Wii U has more logic behind it since 3DS had all the good stages vs Wii U's selection of trash, and 3DS had the superior bonus game mode (Smash Run)

Sorry, to be clear, when I say I prefer 4 im referring to the best features from two versions. Ultimate is better than both individually, but 4s combined best features would trump ultimate (maybe.) ---
