It's not a mystery why people are bringing up watermelon and fried chicken completely out of the blue in a conversation about black people. That example is obvious. What isn't obvious is that cop who put a load of trash in a tree, one of which was a chicken bucket, and he was immediately fired. Being from the south, it seemed like a blatant diss on "trailer trash" rednecks.
