Meryl Streep, the closest thing to film royalty that Hollywood has, once joked about Weinstein being God. Going back to the beginning of the film industry, everyone's known about the so-called casting couch and its lure of riches and fame, but people still acted shocked when actresses came forward recently with their accusations of various film moguls. It doesn't matter if producers like Weinstein and directors don't literally have their names appear in the credits of a movie. These guys have influence and connections that are spread wide and deep. (Honestly, no pun intended on that.)

I don't know if Jennifer Lawrence slept with that dirtbag Weinstein to further her career, but I always thought it was real strange that she basically shot to the very top of her field in a ridiculously short amount of time and she was awful quiet, relatively speaking, when the #Metoo campaign started moving. Meh, it's her body and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to be number one.
