There's another $500ish one that you actually connect to water and sewage lines and it basically flushes for the cat after they're done. It's around $300 IIRC and it has terrible reviews. Pretty much any automatic litter box we found had terrible reviews EXCEPT for this spaceship looking thing. In the long run, we think it would save us money since we don't have to hire pet sitters as often anymore. We regularly go on 3-5 day vacations, which requires one or two pet sitter visit, and we go on a couple 2-3 week vacations a year (where we would hire a pet sitter to come every three days). At $35/visit, we're dramatically reducing the cost of our vacations with this thing IF the cats use it, it works as promised, and it can hold a weeks worth of shit per reviews we've read (thus instead of one visit every three days, it can be one visit every six days or so). Note that we already have an automatic feeder that can hold over a month's worth of food and a water fountain hooked up to the house water system, so automatic litter box is all we need. --- ...
