I fought a painting and a book and got two more orbs.

I ain't gonna lie, this part feels like a bit of a drag and the stories aren't particularly interesting. And suddenly we're introduced to some asshole named Mordegon who I assume will be our sub-boss to the final villain.

Like that little extra part at the end of getting the second orb where the witch didn't get put back in the book didn't feel all that necessary. You could have just had the Queen go "she's powerless and she doesn't deserve to be locked in that book forever, let's free her." Boom, done. I also like how she says "oh, she taught me how to be a better queen" yet the witch literally gets the question wrong meaning she would be a horrible queen.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly the painting lady was. Like, was she just some sort of sentience given physical form?
