EDIT: That would be a better franchise I think. It SHOULD. That Terminator show shouldve been a weekly serial of the Terminator going back in time to different points in John Connors life and trying to kill him. Then Summer Glau triumphs and every week the police come up with a bizarre explanation to handwave the humanoid robot in an explosive crater.
