"Never been a big Tom Cruise fan, but Edge of Tomorrow is the big, shiny exception. It helps that I AM a big Emily Blunt fan, whose Rita Vrataski instantly became one of my all-time favorite female action heroes. She's equal parts snarky and badass and really just a blast to watch, while Tom Cruise acceptably fills the "douchebag whose circumstances eventually make him not garbage anymore" role. What really makes Edge of Tomorrow stand out is the way it handles its short-term time travel to manipulate not only the plot, but the viewer's perception of the plot. When watching, we quickly grasp the idea that the day is restarting each time Tom Cruise dies, but we are rarely given the truth about when or how often it's happening. This is the precise skill in writing and directing required to make this film work, and they nailed it. " ~Johnbobb

"I love Groundhog Day. My mother was Groundhog Day. I found it quite entertaining how Tom Cruises character is different compared to other action movies hes been in. Its funny how much of a coward he is even with the power that he has. Hes got great chemistry with Emily Blunts character and the actions solid. This ranks here because I love Groundhog Day. My mother was Groundhog Day." ~JONA [Editor's Note: This was my favorite write-up of the entire list.]

"Ah, Edge of Tomorrow, AKA Live Die Repeat, AKA All You Need Is Kill. Usually when a movie has as many alternate titles as this does, it's from the '70s and it's either a weird foreign film or a porno (or both). Now, I tried to effectively counterbalance my ranking with the fact that I have a soft spot for Tom Cruise action movies. Personal bias aside, though, this is a really fun, engaging sci-fi blockbuster in its own right. Cruise is a lot of fun in this as he plays against type and lets one of my biggest celebrity crushes, Emily Blunt, do most of the heavy lifting. This is directed and edited with a manic energy that just makes it really fun and exciting to watch. It's a real shame this bombed with audiences, because it was one of Tom Cruise's best of recent years. This one could definitely find itself with a dedicated cult following some years down the line. Add in supporting turns from Brendan Gleeson and Bill Paxton, and I'm really wishing I'd ranked this a bit higher, but this order has already been finalized and I'll live." ~KBM

"I do not know how many people agree with me, but to me the source material is massively better. I also like Re:Zero a bit more, as the protagonist in that setting gives off a lot more personality and does not fall for the girl that shoots him in the head like 50+ times. All You Need is Kill just has a much more interactive protagonist, who steadily gets a lot better as the movie goes on. The movie lacks real feeling, since with the reset the only person feeling anything is him, and it even just resets at the very end for no real forsakable reason." ~Wickle
