And please tell me where I say anything about the dialogue. I don't. You can have brilliant big ideas and bad writing. This is good writing on a flawed and simple concept for me. That's a very different thing.

An assumption, I know you're a dialogue nut so typically if I see you dislike something I just assume it's dialogue. I see otherwise now, it was tough to catch which side of it you were on through the write-up. I can understand simple concept being this placement.

Yeah, it's really, for me, that on this list of other movies that try to take a concept and use it to serve as inspiration or allegory for other more meaningful issues, it chooses to wave at those opportunities as they pass it by. I don't think Moon has particularly great dialogue, but it's where Moon chooses to not use dialogue that makes the movie so meaningful to me. And the concept really plays with a lot of subject matter that makes me think. I have to actively not think to try and enjoy BTTF.

And while, yes, there are "dumb" things I enjoy, this is one of those movies I just find to be extremely, extremely average. I'm devoid of emotion while watching it. Nothing really resonates with me. In a lot of ways, it's like Interstellar.

EDIT: I'm not saying that a movie has to be an intellectual heavyweight or anything to do well on my ratings. One of the three movies left is my #3, and I consider all of them to be pretty lightweight.
