Fine, that was a knee-jerk reaction, and that was mostly in terms of how different your view was.

Thinking about it I understand your view, but NONE of that is what comes to mind at all when I think of Back to the Future. And even then, it's a film from the '80s. What on earth did you expect?

Then again you had similar criticisms for RoboCop, which I also absolutely adore. Probably both movies just sucked me in to the point where I didn't mind or flat-out liked the stuff in them that irritates you.

In hindsight, some of those points can probably explain why I don't like Back to the Future more than I do, but for me they feel like nitpicks. Just weird to see you zero in on the film being awful for those reasons, but for me the film did so much right that I didn't care. And it's never fun seeing someone take a steaming dump on something you have fond memories of, especially when that something is largely immune to criticism.

But that being said, my post was initially aimed SOLELY at the fact your opinion was so different, not that it was "wrong". I simply found it amusing. And, again, just got too defensive. And I'm not even someone who has BTTF in their top 5 or something.

I dunno. I think most of the time I only watch movies if I'm interested in them, so I rarely react to popular movies in such a way. For this list it seems like the only motivation some of you had to watch the films was for this countdown.
