But the way you make it sound like I should wait till they finish the arena and side quests? Is that like coming out in the future patch?

They are planning to release free updates for a while. The next one will have the arena and "a promise is a promise 5" which likely opens the observatory which could easily be an entire dungeon. Dungeons in cross code are LONG btw. They usually take me almost 2 hours. Anyway that update will be "soon" but I don't theres any reason to wait. I initially played it during early access and was able to jump back in on my previous save after about a year with no problems so going back for the arena or other post game stuff won't be a problem.

They also intend to make a "post game episode" which will have some epilogue style story content. No idea how much content that will be but it's supposed to include a raid with your guild IIRC. The current ending adds in one tiny cliffhanger that could easily be the hook for the post game chapter which could end up being a whole lot. We also come across ascension temple which is inaccessible and supposed to be the end of the MMOs story. Humorously there are NPCs outside the entrance complaining about it taking so long. The various NPCs are pretty great btw, really shows self awareness. I especially liked the table sitter NPC.

I was kinda underselling it my previous post. The game is fantastic and has literally the best puzzles in rpgs IMO. Each dungeon keeps adding a new puzzle mechanic and mixing in old ones and it just feels so satisfying.

I think they kinda shot themselves in the foot with the gear and combat though. If they really want challenging post game content they NEED to nerf burn application and waves level 3 arts. You can win all duels by just using the level 3 wave guard art. It will one hit the enemy, fully heal you, and restore all your SP so you can use it again. Really that one move breaks a lot of enemies.

It's a move where you set yourself to like 2% hp but become invincible and block all damage for 4ish seconds. Afterwards you cause a huge AoE explosion that deals damage based on how much you blocked and heals you based on how much damage the explosion did. Since you are critical it stacks with berserker which increases your damage massively when at low hp and all hits are blocked meaning you get avengers sp bonus restore from it which will likely refill your entire SP bar. It's pretty broken. Hilarious to use on the shokats (once I recovered 40k hp from the blast, I only had 4.5k max hp). Any enemy with fast or strong hits has no answer to this move and any enemy without those is easy because you can outregen it. Even IF they unleashed way harder enemies, it really wouldn't matter with this strategy.

Currently its only really useable with end game equipment that you might have for all of 2-3 hours at the end of the game at which point you earned your right to be OP but it would carry into post game. Burn can also be applied fast and is basically poison from other games that ticks really quickly and deals %map hp damage. Both of those things would need to be either directly nerfed or all enemies would need counters to them. Dang I rambled on a lot. I'm honestly really missing this game now that its over. No idea what to play or watch next.
