To give the benefit of the doubt, I doubt he has any but the vaguest idea of what a white national identity even is. Intergenerationally "white" American families are almost entirely mutts of old euro blood. Pole-Italo-Swede-scandiwhatevers. The only general consistency is a level of melanin that we perceive as white skin, but yall range from red to olive to translucent.

I also have to wonder how he feels about identity politics, because there's nothing more idpol, and less relevant to personhood.
