I would guess fans of the winner in the main bracket will be apathetic, while fans of the loser will be doing whatever they can to get their guy a win. So the loser should get a decent boost. At least for a close match with a surprising result. Might be too specific of logic to today's match, but curious to hear peoples thoughts.
