And that is definitely an apt explanation, because this movie is a total mindjob. Never mind expectation subversion, this movie doesnt give you enough time to have expectations. Its a crazy ride through different events and time periods that gives you little time to think. And while that is definitely part of the movies charm, its also a bit of a curse because it honestly takes a few rewatches to get it. At least it did for me. Maybe I was slow on the uptake for this one? But I have to add that poor Bruce Willis died a lot in the 90s. And this time he had to even watch himself die. Traviss Opinion: No, thank you. The story was interesting in conceptsending a guy back in time to try and save mankind from a massive epidemic, only for the information to be wrong, the time travel is wrong (and managed by people that dont know what the fuck theyre doing), and he winds up looping back over his own timeline. Aside from the concept of a person traveling back in time to affect the future (his present), this isnt even so much of a sci-fi movie as it is a thriller about a crazy guy who might not really be crazy. And thats not bad. The one thing holding this film back on the list (and again, this is still part of the this was good and I liked watching it portion of the list) is that its a bit dark and a bit grim, and lacks some of the charm that Ive enjoyed in much of the rest of the list. The acting was great between Willis and Pitt playing just flat out nut jobs, but the fact that I had to watch the life of a nut job who really just was never a hero and was trying to fight a world killing disease The scientists at the end certainly are not the most intelligent people for figuring out how to save humanity.
