I mean, it's more or less implied by the mention of a top-down perspective, likely as a whole rather than parts. 3D games typically don't spend their entirety in birds' eye view. Triforce heroes was a 3D top down game. A Link Between Worlds was, too... I'll count Link Between Worlds and such... even though it was kinda anti-thetical to metroidvania design --- "Salt cures Everything!"
