It's like Overwatch, even in there sometimes there are special events that are canon... to the various skin universes, I don't think there's been one in the main League universe yet. It's weird to me that the skin universes even have a canon. Within the logic of the game, are they alternate dimensions or something? Yeah. The PROJECT/Program world is "what if League champs were in a cyberpunk world". Odyssey is if they were in a space opera.
