| Entity13 11/27/18 4:18:36 PM #30: | For the past week or so I have been rewatching the first twenty James Bond films (sans "Never Say Never Again"). I'm up to the Dalton movies now, and goodness I remember how I liked him least among the pre-Craig Bonds. Like, he scales up the asshole in both movies, throughout, more than Connery did in his more brutish scenes. Even Dalton's pun deliveries were aggressive and less than charming. I also stand by Lazenby being a better Bond than people give him credit for. Was his delivery of lines spot-on? No. Did he at least carry the role? Sure, until he quit over petty reasons and burned that bridge with the films' producers. That's what people have to realize, is that Lazenby quit after one film, despite being contracted for several; Dalton was just unfit for the role. --- ... Copied to Clipboard! |
