I had a PSP with two kinds of games: Disc based ones, and ones downloaded onto the memory card. If I were to use a Vita, I could play the PSP games that are on the card just fine, but it has no way to read discs. There could be some sort of system in place that would allow you to download digital versions of games you already own.
