Wow very surprising to see Blade Runner drop so soon. I tend to agree with most of you guys though. It's always been a film that seemed like it should be really awesome on paper but in execution just didn't really work for me because despite having a compelling enough plot at its core and having a good cast and setting, the pacing is just totally killer and I end up being bored most of the time.

I don't remember the movie well enough to exactly "defend" it (as much as a film of Blade Runner's stature needs defending), but while I can definitely understand taking this stance towards the film, I saw it for the first time earlier this year and absolutely relished it. Then again maybe the "problem" is that I'm actually interested in movies like Blade Runner and 2001 while some of you guys only watch them because of their reputations.

Like, with 2001, yeah I'll concede that the film could be trimmed off a decent bit and not really lose anything. Blade Runner didn't really feel particularly slow-paced to me.

That being said, Blade Runner was not very well-received at all on release so don't feel bad for disliking it.
