Games have to be out, or at least have been sent to reviewers, by like mid-to-late October to qualify. PUBG last year was feature complete so it was eligible. Judges wouldn't have played Smash by the time nominations closed this year so it's not on the list. LapisLazuli posted... This year though, not the best. I think this year has been fantastic, but God of War, Spider-Man, and Red Dead crowding every category makes this year look a little dull if you're not interested in those games.
