They are trying to go on damage control with the narrative that they got what they wanted, which isnt true. The Blue Wave was supposed to be a movement that would give 2/3 of the government (The Senate and The House of Representatives) to the democrats. That was the blue wave. They wound up getting 1/3 control rather than 2/3, which means that regardless of what they may say, the republicans are the ones who will be calling the shots for a very long time.
