I love Islay scotch. Wife has gotten me Lagavulin the last couple years for my birthday/Christmas. Got me the distillers version last month for my birthday. It's great but I don't like it as much as the standard bottle. It's too sweet and isn't as smooth. My every day scotch is McClellands Islay. It's the closest I can get to Lagavulin for ~$23. How's the Laphroaig? Was recommended it the last time I went whiskey shopping. Was planning on picking it up next time. In regards to bourbon and rye, I haven't found any I like yet.
