The old saying the customer is always right is bullshit.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_customer_is_always_right?wprov=sfla1

It is a slogan that been distorted far beyond it's original meaning. The customer is often wrong, and typically, I've found that the louder they are, the wronger they are.

The problem especially lies in the fact that far and beyond, management will usually bend over backwards to placate the most unreasonable dipshit customers and throw their employees right under the bus in the process. Bitch, this is the policy in place*

*Unless you make a huge fuss, then the rank and file employees are wrong for even daring to attempt to enforce the policy they were trained to enforce.

It has been a problem literally everywhere I've worked for 30 years. Why bother having a policy in place that management will break the second a customer raises their voice?

I could rant for several posts on this issue, but I'll let it go at that.

This so much. We had people sign a contract and agree to the conditions. Then they try to back out. I wouldn't let them. Then our boss would say to let them have everything back and tell them they can't sell to us anymore. When she could have just kept what they already sold to us. They literally signed a contract. Just let them fuck off... But whatever...
