bane probably is more knowledgeable about this than me but to me post-hardcore is a more experimental version of hardcore punk. it's hardcore punk songs that don't necessarily use the verse-chorus-verse format/have audible influences from other genres/that sort of thing.

and yeah, you'll probably like coheed and cambria if you're into concept albums and storytelling in music. their music has this huge myhtology behind it with comic books that tie into the stories in their music and stuff.
