Getcha some whisky stones and a nice glass. Something thick and sturdy too -- don't want something that will shatter if you slam it a little too hard. But still get something that looks nice.

As for what I drink -- whatever I haven't already tried. But mostly jack since it's cheap and abundant.

Whisky stones do not work.

The soapstones absorb the heat of your whisky, so they lose temperature for your drink extremely quick (<25 minutes)

Wtick with neat, a big rock of ice, or a dram of water depending on your proofing (higher ethanol level whiskys benefit more from water due to booziness potentially diluting those underlying armoas and flavors)

I (for better or for worse) know far too much about alcohol given my career as a professional brewer. Obviously beer is my specialty, but I've had a deep appreciation for single malt for the past 6-7 years now.
