Development hell is literally always categorized with huge periods of silence, and you have no idea whats going on with the game.

SC is very much the opposite of that. Also a bad game is bad forever etc etc etc. All that shit.

Is it? That's news to me. As I understand it, development hell is just when a project stagnates and goes into limbo for long periods of time with no clear outcome in sight. I'd say that's bang on what's happening here.

8 years dude. The Witcher 3 was built in 3 years. The Burj Khalifa was built in 6. We're kind of beyond the point of "good things take take time". I'll wait 30 minutes for a great meal at a restaurant. I won't wait 3 weeks.

The genuine concern here is that they're going to have the same situation that happened to Duke Nukem Forever - a game will be released with features and graphics embarrassingly outdated because by the time they finished the game the engine was old tech.

If there was radio silence on this game I might actually be worried. Clearly theyre on a steady course and the game is coming along.

I'm not sure if releasing cosmetic features like FOIP is what I'd categorise as progress when enormous gameplay mechanics seem to be fundamentally missing still but I can agree that they've made more progress in the last year than they have in the previous 6 combined.
