Red mages are pretty underappreciated. While lacking the deepest understandings one might get from devotion to one singular type of magic, a red mage can combine multiple types to nearly-as-good equivalents. Generally slightly more capable with weapons and armor to boot.

Ultimately, the red mage more than any other option here represents the desire to discover knowledge, whatever path it might take.
