Columbine was in 1999 so that's about 7-8 students killed per year. I could be wrong on this because numbers of how many students actually died are surprisingly hard to come by in comparison to 'wounded' or 'exposed to violence' which are different things. About 12,000 people die from falling down stairs every year. There are about 30 dog-bite related deaths every year. Clearly we have packs of rabid dogs running around in the streets mauling children and every time you go up or down a flight of stairs you're playing a game of roulette with your life on the line. CLEARLY THESE ARE FACTS AND NOT SENSATIONALIST PHRASES BEING THROWN AROUND TO TRY AND BUILD THE IMAGE OF CHILDREN FLEEING IN TERROR AND HIDING UNDER DESKS EVERY DAY WHILE VIOLENT INDIVIDUALS ROAM ABOUT KILLING WITH GLEEFUL ABANDON!
