That's objectively better than full paralysis. Plus it's easier to graft gorilla arms onto a torso than it is to somehow work with a paralyzed body >_> I think it's because that would probably hurt more. The sharks has to rip all your limbs off. And you're also in the water. It just sounds like a bad day... Also, I remember seeing this thing where they had this woman who was struck by lightning and became paralyzed. Then she was struck by lightning again(I don't remember how much later) and could walk again. The she lightning proof her house. And hides when there's a storm... Which makes sense...
